Assistant Beaver Scout Leader
I started coming as an occasional help when my daughter was in Beavers and decided to help as a leader in 2018.
I love being part of an organisation that helps teach children “Life skills” and watch them develop as they go through their scouting life.
Also, I get to learn new skills too and enjoy new adventures. You’re never too old to learn new things!

Paul Duckett
Cub Scout LeaderI was a Cub with the 256th Hengrove, Bristol Scout Group back in the 1960’s. I was re-united with the Scout movement in 2002, when my son joined the 107th as a Beaver. I became a Parent Helper with the 107th Cubs in 2005 & enjoyed it so much that I became a uniformed Cub Scout Leader in 2008.
My most memorable times as a Leader with the 107th have been the trips, camps, Jamborees & two 107th Scouts trips to Kandersteg International Scout Centre in Switzerland.

Alex Carter
Scout Leader
Hi I’m Alex. I am the Scout leader at the 107th, and have been in the role since September 2021.
I spent my childhood with the 107th, moving through Beavers to Scouts, before moving onto Explorers and becoming a Young Leader with the group back in 2013. In 2015 I steppped back to focus on my study and carrer, but always relished the oppertunity to become a Scout Leader give back some of the great experiences I had to a new generation.
Lewis Bateman
Assistant Scout LeaderHi I’m Lewis. I have been in Scouting since I was 6 years old. I started as a Beaver at the 107th and have stayed ever since. This journey has taken me through Scouts, into Explorers and Young Leadership and ultimately back into helping run the Scout Section.
I have taken part in too many camps and events to a keep track of. However, highlights include participating in the National Ton of Fun Jamboree, and international trips with the group to Switzerland- once as a Scout and once as a Young Leader.
I enjoy Scouts Leadership as I feel as though I have the opportunity to pass on the best parts of my Scouting journey to the next generation, with just a few extra Health and Safety considerations that weren’t present in my day!
